"Agree. Wine importers too for that very same reason often request samples to taste back in their respective countries to see how it tastes away from the winery ambiance."

Wine on holiday

So often a wine tastes divine on a holiday, you bring it home, and...disappointment. It could be that the atmosphere has lost its' magic. But also, remember, a good wine needs to rest and transport is not a good thing for it.Leave it in a good cellar for at least 3 weeks before opening it.
