"Oh, just thought of one more because the idea is swirling on my palette... For a terrific Nero D'Avola from Sicily Ceuso 'Scurati' Sicilia Rosso igt : http://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/183319. Now I must focus, get back to work…"

Sasha McCauley replied to Rick Schofield, CWE's discussion Where do BC consumers buy BC wine?
"Rick, Not totally sure how a buyer position would come to fruition. The current head buyer is a lady named Barbara Phillips and she came from the private sector. Most of the other buys have been in the BCLDB for a long time. David Schofield was…"

Sasha McCauley replied to Galen Barnhardt's discussion What are the most memorable BC vintages?
"HI Brad, You might want to try calling Ame at BC Wineguys, Cadboro Bay Rd. She did at one point have a number of back vintages and may be able to help you out. Not sure if they are still doing a weekly tasting, ask her about that as well. You can…"

Sasha McCauley replied to Rick Schofield, CWE's discussion Where do BC consumers buy BC wine?
"Rick, To get product onto GLS (Government Liquor Stores) shelves the wines have to be submited for approval. The BCLDB buyers look at the wine, it's merits, it's packaging, whether it has buzz, and they have to sample the product as well.…"

Sasha McCauley replied to Rick Schofield, CWE's discussion Where do BC consumers buy BC wine?
"Hi Rick, Wineries are legally able to ship wine to BC residents, that is not the problem. Some freight forwarders don't like to ship wine, as they don't want to be liable, you can always find someone to do it. As well, you can purchase…"

Sasha McCauley replied to Brad Cunningham's discussion What BC wine would you buy for a very special occasion next summer?
"Hi Brad, As you are in Victoria, I would recommend driving out to Starling Lane for a bottle of their Celebration Brut for your anniversary, not a red but bubble goes with everything, especially a special occasion. It is a super wine, they make…"

Sasha McCauley replied to Jay whiteley's discussion Cab Franc
"I love Cab Franc. Run, don't walk to the nearest store that sells Fairview, Nichol and Herder, and buy what you can. I think that Cab Franc has a solid future in the Valley; I was excited to see Little Straw was planting more, and look forward…"

About me or my company:
I work with WineQuest Wine and Spirit Brokers, based in Edmonton Alberta. Before moving to Alberta we lived in BC, where I had a small wine agency specializing in BC wines. I have long been an advocate of local wine, and food, and a huge supporter of the great wine that comes from our Western most province. We have begun bringing in Little Straw Cellars and Fairview Cellars to Alberta.

One of the courses of that dinner was the most amazing food/wine pairing. Le Vieux Pin Vaila Rose with Kobe beef tartare...and this little microgreen salad. Amazing!
